Q&A: John CusackPosted: Thursday June 28, 2007 11:38AM; Updated: Thursday June 28, 2007 11:38AM
Last week SI writer Richard Deitsch interviewed John Cusack for the magazine's Q&A. The actor and diehard Chicago sports fan stars in 1408. Here are additional excerpts from their conversation: SI: What makes Chicago sports fans different?
SI: Word association: I say Lou Piniella, you say?
SI: Alfonso Soriano?
SI: This year?
SI: You can trade places with one athlete for one day, who are you are why?
SI: Are you friends with any athletes?
SI: But you stopped being a serious Blackhawks fan the day they traded Chelios, right? Cusack: Yeah, I'm very old-school and loyal to my friends. If he ever goes back to the Blackhawks I'd be happy, and I'd root for the team again. But as long as he is still playing, I'm with Cheli. It's the only time I ever turned my back on a Chicago team. SI: The Cubs just won the World Series. Tell me how you are spending the next 24 hours?
SI: You've written for the Huntington Post. Would you ever consider writing a sports blog?
