The Diamondbacks have acquired starting pitcher Jon Rauch from the Washington Nationals, in exchange for infielder Emilio Bonifacio. The 6'11" Rauch went 4-2 with a 2.98 ERA and 17 saves for the Nats this season.

Bonifacio had played just eight games in the majors this season but was a Pacific Coast League All-Star and was named to the World Team for the Futures Game at Yankee Stadium during All-Star week.
