Mets closer Billy Wagner has no structural damage and only muscles spasms around his pitching shoulder, an MRI revealed today. Wagner could be ready to pitch possibly as early as tonight against the rival Phillies, according to Mets spokesman Jay Horwitz.

Wagner had trouble getting loose Sunday in Cincinnati, but struck out all three batters he faced, nonetheless. He mentioned some tightness in the shoulder that day. But it appears to be nothing serious. Wagner is 0-1 with a 2.20 ERA and 24 saves this season and has 382 saves in his career.

Meanwhile, Pedro Martinez is due to throw a bullpen session today in hopes of returning to pitch in a game either Friday or Saturday.
