FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) -- Arkansas basketball fans with deep pockets will be able to get closer to the action at Bud Walton Arena.

The university announced Thursday that it will add 34 courtside seats along the south side of the hardwood, across from the team benches. The seats will be offered only to donors who give a minimum of $10,000 per year, known as the Broyles Matthews donor level. There were 799 boosters in that category as of Thursday, according to the UA.

A priority system based on lifetime giving to the Razorback Foundation will determine which boosters are first in line for the seats. The university expects to pull in $400,000 per year for the first five years the seats are offered.

The seats will cost $12,000 per year for the first five years. For the sixth year, the university says the cost will be at least $8,000 per seat. The sum will include a game ticket.

Athletic director Jeff Long said eligible donors can expect brochures in the mail.

The seats will be padded and will include an arm rest and a cup holder. Ticket holders will also have access to a pre-game and halftime lounge, the Courtside Club.

The seats will be sold separately for women's games.

On Monday, Arkansas announced it would raise the price for men's basketball tickets by $5 to $25 per game.
