SOUTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. (AP) -- Rhode Island guard Jimmy Baron has been named the Atlantic 10 Conference player of the week after his 24-point performance against Duke.

Baron averaged 18.7 points per game last week against Duke, Monmouth and Virginia Commonwealth.

He scored 24 at Duke on Nov. 16, shooting 8-of-10 from behind the arc and setting a record for 3-pointers made by an opponent at Cameron Indoor Stadium.

Baron, son of Rhode Island Coach Jim Baron, leads the Rams in overall scoring with 18.3 points per game.

Rhode Island plays Hartford at the Ryan Center on Tuesday.
