MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Minnesota basketball coach Tubby Smith is concerned about turned ankles. The Gophers will play Wednesday night against South Dakota State without guard Blake Hoffarber and forward Paul Carter, who are both recovering from sprained ankles. Smith also says guard Devron Bostick hurt his ankle in practice Tuesday morning, though he hoped Bostick would be able to play against the Jackrabbits. Hoffarber was hurt in the last game against Cornell. Carter was injured before Thanksgiving against Eastern Washington and will miss his fourth straight game. After Wednesday, the Gophers have a break to focus on final exams before traveling to Arizona to play ninth-ranked Louisville on Dec. 20. At 8-0, the Gophers are one of two unbeaten teams left in the Big Ten. Copyright 2008 Associated Press. All rights reserved.
