The Ultimate Fighting Championship has found a fairly consistent audience lately on Spike TV. In recent press releases from Spike TV, the company revealed that Dec. 10's UFC Fight for the Troops captured an audience of 2.0 million viewers, while The Ultimate Fighter 8 Finale drew 1.9 million. UFC Fight for the Troops was a special fund-raising event for the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund. The event raised more than $4 million for the Fund's new medical center to be built in Bethesda. *** WEC FIGHTERS CLEANNine fighters were drug tested by the Nevada State Athletic Commission following WEC 37, which took place on Dec. 3 in Las Vegas. All nine fighters returned negative results, indicating that they were clear of both drugs of abuse and performance enhancing substances. NSAC Executive Director Keith Kizer announced the results on Tuesday. The nine fighters tested were WEC bantamweight champion Miguel Torres, challenger Manny Tapia, Shane Roller, Cub Swanson, Bart Palaszewski, Johny Hendricks, Joseph Benavidez, Brian Bowles and Wagnney Fabiano.
