The Brazilian athlete endured an 80-minute, right-knee arthroscopy at Rio de Janeiro's Copa D'Or hospital, and was expected to be released later Tuesday. Within four weeks, Hypolito will be fit to resume training for the Beijing Olympics, doctor Joao Grangeiro said in a statement. Brazil's top male gymnast, Hypolito won the 2007 world championship in the floor exercise and is among the favorites for the gold in Beijing. He also won the event in 2005 and was runner-up in 2006 despite losing training time because of an ankle injury. Copyright 2008 Associated Press. All rights reserved.
