Patriots' Moss aims to race in NASCAR's Craftsman Truck Series

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) -- Randy Moss is putting together a team to race in NASCAR's Craftsman Truck Series.

Moss announced Tuesday the formation of Moss Motorsports LLC. The New England Patriots wide receiver anticipates the team will debut in the second half of the 2008 season and run selected races through the conclusion of the year.

Currently the team has no driver or sponsors lined up.

Moss, who starred at DuPont High School and Marshall University, has been a racing fan for several years.

"I am by nature a very competitive person and this is an outlet for me to compete at another level," Moss said in a statement. "There are some pretty awesome challenges in building a program like this from the ground up, but I am looking forward to it."
