Woman of the Year?

Yup, you read that correctly. The Harvard Lampoon will honor Hilton as its Woman of the Year in a ceremony on Feb. 6, two days before the release of her new film, The Hottie & the Nottie. Meanwhile Hilton was spotted getting cozy with freak show singer/actor Jared Leto at Sundance yesterday.

There's No Crying in Basketball
One of SIOC's favorite college superfans is Kansas' Saul "White Owl" Tucker, who can usually be seen dancing or schmoozing with fellow Jayhawk fans. The Kansas City Star has a great profile of Tucker including the revelation that he lived with Jerry Garcia in Haight-Ashbury for three years in the '60s. Now if someone could do a profile of this Ohio State fan ...

Urban's Excellent Recruiting
We love this Urban Meyer recruiting story. The Gators coach was having trouble convincing top-ranked receiver Carl Moore to come to Gainesville, so when Meyer found out that Moore's girlfriend -- Maranda Smith -- was on UCLA's gymnastics team before quitting due to injury, he started calling her every day. Before long, both were enrolled at Florida (she as a member of the gymnastics team). As expected, some are unhappy with Meyer's recruiting tactics.

Our friends at Coaches Hot Seat have poured through hours of game film and completed their final coaching grades for the 2007 season. And as you may have guessed, Coach Crewcut -- the nation's highest-paid coach -- didn't score so well.
The Life of a 7-foot-7 Center
Before reading this profile, we only knew UNC-Asheville's Kenny George as that tell guy who got facialized by Tyler Hansbrough. Now we feel kinda bad for this big man -- he can't drive a car, is forced to sit on the floor during class and can barely fit (diagonally) on a hotel bed. That being said, it would be nice to dominate a game like this.
