College Student Climbs Everest
|

While you were polishing off your term papers and frequenting your favorite campus bars, UC Davis senior Tanner Bixler was climbing Mount Everest. The 20-year-old began climbing on April 9 and reached the summit on May 24. Oh, when he's not scaling massive rock formations, Bixler is fighting fires. Good looks and bravado...two thumbs up.

Dumb Arrest of the Day

We don't condone underage drinking here at SIOC, but apparently former Buffalo Sabres play-by-play man and current Bills PA announcer John Gurtler does. Gurtler, his wife and son were arrested for providing alcohol to between 70 and 80 minors at a post-prom party this weekend.
