Friday

NCAA Women's Volleyball: No. 22 Michigan at No. 1 Penn State, 8 p.m.

The top-ranked Nittany Lions are 18-0. And they still haven't lost a game. To recap, that's 54 games won, zero lost. Good luck Michigan.

The Comedy of Jon Stewart, Northeastern University, 8 p.m.

You know what would be really funny? If Stewart went the whole night without mentioning the words "Obama," "McCain," or "Palin." Well, at least I'd get a laugh out of it.

"Bowling for Boobs," University of Minnesota

Sure, the school could have picked a less provocative name for this breast cancer awareness event, but where's the fun in that?

Saturday

Duke Basketball Blue-White Scrimmage (Featuring the Duke Football Team), 1 p.m.

It's a busy day in Chapel Hill. First, at 1 p.m., the Duke basketball season officially kicks off with the Blue-White Scrimmage. Then, at approximately 1:15, the scrimmage will be put on hold as the Duke football team marches into Cameron Indoor. The two teams will meet, greet, and exchange pleasantries (I assume rather awkwardly, since the basketball team surely spent the last two years mocking the football team for its lack of adulation from Dick Vitale.) Then the football team is off to their home game against Miami, leaving Greg Paulus to ponder how his future might not involve backup point guard duties with Sioux Falls Skyforce if he'd only accepted that scholarship to play quarterback at Notre Dame.

NCAA Football: No. 7 Texas Tech at Texas A&M, 12 p.m.

The Red Raiders schedule after this week: @ No. 16 Kansas, vs. No. 1 Texas, vs. No. 8 Oklahoma State, @ No. 4 Oklahoma. The moral of the story? Texas Tech needs to enjoy their time on the field against Mike Sherman's struggling Aggies.

LowRider Cup Disc Golf Tournament, Ole Miss

This isn't that free form "throw your frisbee at anything" Frolf which is so dear to George Costanza. This is the real deal. Eighteen holes, tricky pin locations, and a slew of hazards. Whatever you do, don't let Phil Mickelson convince you to use your driver on 18.

All You Can Eat Dessert-Fest, University of Tennessee, 5 p.m.

Five dollars will get you all the dessert you can eat in the lead up to Tennessee's 7 pm game against Mississippi State. I hope Vols like beer with their chocolate cake.

Head of the Charles Regatta, Boston, MA, 8 a.m.

The largest two day regatta in the world includes over 8,000 athletes from colleges, high schools, and clubs around the world. I'm still not sure exactly what a regatta is, but I'm fairly confident it involves many boats and even more oars.

Sunday

College Football Live, 8:30 p.m., ESPN

ESPN's latest answer to Sunday Night NFL Football? Two and half hours of everything you already heard on Saturday. I'd rather be watching a heated matchup between two MAC teams.
