Omar Bravo is relishing the prospect of his new challenge in Spain after arriving at Deportivo La Coruña for preseason training ahead of the club's Intertoto Cup campaign.

The Mexican international agreed to the move in May from Chivas, but had to wait until after his summer holiday before flying to Galicia to settle in.

Now he is looking forward to next season and explained the reasons why he chose to move to la Primera and hopes compatriot Andrés Guardado can help him settle in.

"To come to Europe is a great responsibility and challenge," he said. "I have come to grow and to develop. It is something in my favor to know Andrés and that will make things easier.

"I like Depor. I know the club now and it feels good. The city appears to be very pleasant, too. Now my aim is to help the team in the Intertoto Cup so that we play in Europe next term, that is vital."

"They had a very good second half to the season and I hope that this year we can play that well from the start."

Bravo has been joined at Riazor this week by Mista, who moved to the club after having his contract rescinded by Atlético de Madrid, while Filipe's and Ángel Lafita's loan moves have been made permanent.
