Benfica is reportedly very close to securing the services of José Antonio Reyes from Atlético de Madrid on a loan move.

The ex-Arsenal man was expected in Lisbon on Tuesday to finalize his switch to Benfica, however his demands for a better contract ended up delaying the deal.

News daily El Mundo Deportivo understands that Reyes is currently on his way to Lisbon to put pen-to-paper on a one-year loan move to Estádio da Luz.

Reyes was in Seville spending his day off but has flown to the Portuguese capital, where he will complete negotiations with Benfica's sporting director, Rui Costa.

The Spanish winger, who was not registered by Atlético Madrid for the Champions League qualifying against Schalke 04, is expected to be presented to the press still this week.
