With key absences, manager Sven-Göran Eriksson called up a total of 20 players for Mexico's friendly against Chile in Los Angeles, which includes some new faces.

For the Sept. 24 match, El Tri will not be at full-strength and will comprise solely domestic players. Thursday's announcement confirmed that Eriksson's squad will feature no players from Pumas, Cruz Azul, Atlante, Santos Laguna, San Luis or Chivas due to their participation in the CONCACAF Champions League and Copa Sudamericana.

With the unavailability of foreign-based players Mexico is left with a list that gives another chance to unheralded players and several new faces.

Those players receiving their first national-team call-ups include Jorge Torres from Atlas, Fernando López from Necaxa, William Paredes from Monterrey, Carlos Esquivel from Toluca and Arnhold Rivas from Tecos.

Roster

Goalkeepers: Guillermo Ochoa (América) and Jesús Corona (Tecos)

Defense: Leobardo López and Fausto Pinto (Pachuca), Jorge Torres (Atlas), Edgar Dueńas (Toluca), Fernando López (Necaxa), Diego Martínez (Tigres), Juan Carlos Valenzuela (Tecos), José Antonio Castro (América)

Midfield: Luis Pérez and William Paredes (Monterrey), Mario Méndez and Antonio Naelson Sinha (Toluca), Jaime Correa (Pachuca)

Forwards: Carlos Ochoa (Monterrey), Francisco Fonseca (Tigres), Carlos Esquivel (Toluca), Enrique Esqueda (América), Arnhold Rivas (Tecos)
