SECAUCUS, N.J. (AP) -- The New York Red Bulls will kick off the 2009 Major League Soccer season with a game against the expansion Seattle Sounders FC on March 19, the league announced Tuesday.

The Red Bulls will have their home opener at Giants Stadium against the New England Revolution on March 28.

New York reached the MLS Cup Final for the first time this past season, losing the title game to the Columbus Crew. The Red Bulls are led by Juan Pablo Angel, who scored a team-high 14 goals.

Seattle Sounders FC is the league's 15th team. The Sounders will be led by Swedish midfielder Freddie Ljungberg, goalkeeper Kasey Keller and former Red Bulls defender Jeff Parke.
