SAO PAULO, Brazil (AP) -- Former AC Milan striker Marcio Amoroso has agreed to play for Brazilian club Guarani in 2009.

Amoroso, a former Brazil striker who also played for Germany's Borussia Dortmund and Italy's Parma, last played for Aris Salonika in Greece.

The 34-year-old striker hinted in November that he was going to retire from football, but on Monday decided to accept an offer from Guarani, the club where he began his professional career in 1991.

Financial details were not released.

Guarani, the 1978 Brazilian champion, was promoted from the third to the second division of the Brazilian league this year, and in the beginning of 2009 it will participate in the top flight of the traditional Sao Paulo state championship.
