Budapest, Hungary (Sports Network) - Alize Cornet of France captured her first career WTA Tour singles title with a straight-set victory over Slovenia's Andreja Klepac in the final of the Gaz de France Grand Prix.

The second-seeded Cornet notched a 7-6 (7-5), 6-3 triumph on Sunday, finally winning a tournament after losing twice in finals earlier this year. She lost to Flavia Pennetta in Acapulco in March and fell to Jelena Jankovic in Rome in May.

"I'm so happy to win today," said Cornet. "It's my first victory on the Tour, so it's very special. I've had great results on clay this season. I was just really happy to be able to compete so well in Budapest this week."

Klepac was appearing in a WTA Tour final for the first time. Her best previous results were quarterfinal losses in Pattaya City and Istanbul earlier this year.

Cornet, just 18 years old, earned a first prize of $28,000.
