BELGRADE, Serbia (AP) -- Masters Cup champion Novak Djokovic says the first ATP tennis tournament he brought to Serbia will carry a $500,000 prize. The third-ranked Serb said Wednesday that Belgrade will be hosting the event next May because his family has bought the license from the ABM Amro Open. Jelena Jankovic, the U.S. Open runner-up, is No. 1 on the women's side. Compatriot Ana Ivanovic, the French Open winner, held the spot earlier in the year before slipping to No. 5. Ivanovic is said to be negotiating buying a franchise for a WTA event in Belgrade next winter. Belgrade has hosted challenger events in the past but never an ATP or WTA tournament. It hasn't hosted any type of major tennis competition in more than a decade due to unrest in the region. Copyright 2008 Associated Press. All rights reserved.
