Doha Crowds Ah, for the halcyon days of the Staples Center. Either the stands were empty or a lot of people came dressed as empty seats.

Scheduling True, this is from the "beating a dead horse" department. But on Friday afternoon, here were the top six tennis headlines:
- Injured Serena out of WTA Championships
- Ailing Federer takes aim at Masters Cup
- King promotes gender equality in Qatar
- Ivanovic withdraws due to virus
- Injured Nadal doubtful for Davis Cup
- Bergelin, Borg's coach, dies at 83
Um, anyone else see a problem here? When the ATP picks a new leader, the issue of season length/injuries must be addressed. At some point you have to say, "I don't care if I anger some tournament directors. We have to shorten the schedule, reconsider the deregulation of equipment (that means you, Luxilon) and the physical demands being put on the players. Otherwise, there might soon be no one else left to play this sport!"
