Nick Diaz and Muhsin Corbbrey will fight at a catch-weight of 168 pounds Saturday night in Honolulu (10 p.m. ET, Showtime) after it was determined Diaz could not get close to the 160-pound contracted limit.

Corbbrey, a 160-pounder fighting out of Hilton Head, S.C., was informed Diaz would not make weight when EliteXC executive Jeremy Lappen informed the camp at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, said the underdog fighter's manager John Blanken. They asked Diaz to attempt to make weight, and he got as low as 169, Blanken said, before a catch-weight was agreed upon. An undisclosed portion of Diaz's purse will go to Corbbrey (8-2).

"We need to take this fight," Blanken via telephone from Hawaii. "This fight makes my guy's career. We need to fight him and beat him, so that's what happens."

The 24-year-old Diaz (16-7, 1 NC) was coming off a 170-pound fight against Katsuya Inoue seven weeks ago in Japan. It was his first fight at welterweight after three bouts at 160. He has never had a history of missing weight.
