Gonzaga bounces back; Montrose Christian enters

The Washington, D.C.-Baltimore area trio of Gonzaga, Mount St. Joseph and Montrose Christian continues to rise. Last week, Gonzaga's Max Kenyi, who will play at Harvard next season, hit nine three pointers and scored 43 points in two victories. Gonzaga will face a tough test against Philadelphia's Neumann Goretti at Villanova on Saturday.

The Friars made quick work of Christian Brothers Academy (Lincroft, N.J.) last Saturday by jumping to a 42-5 lead at the half en route to a 90-32 victory. Rutgers recruit Mike Rosario hit five three-pointers.

The Wear twins (Travis and David) led Mater Dei to wins over White Rock (Vanderhoof, British Columbia) and Anaheim's Servite. Gary Franklin also added 19 points against Serra Catholic (San Juan Capistrano, Calif.).

Louisville-bound forward Samardo Samuels sat out of a game against Passaic County Tech (Wayne, N.J.) because of a coach's decision, but the Gray Bees still won easily as Tamir Jackson continued his impressive play with 17 points.

Junior Shawn Williams led the Panthers with 19 points in a 51-33 win over Sam Houston (Arlington, Texas).

UConn signee Kemba Walker scored 20 points and had four steals in 88-52 win over Molloy (Briarwood, N.Y.).
