There were a number of close calls last weekend, but no team in the top 25 fell. Top-ranked Trinity (Euless, Texas) held on for a 35-28 win over Heritage (Colleyville, Texas) while No. 2 Lowndes needed a one-yard run to fend off Valdosta (Ga.), 14-7. The team playing with fire each week, though, has been Lakeland (Fla.). For the last three weeks it has trailed its opponent, but remains undefeated after the latest close call, a 15-14 win over Lake Gibson (Fla.).
