13 Ben Wallace and Wally Szczerbiak helped them rout the Grizzlies on Sunday to make it three straight. With Daniel Gibson joining Sasha Pavlovic on the injured list, the Cavs are going to need those new acquisitions to contribute right away.
11 Dunk champion Dwight Howard has now officially replaced Shaq as the NBA's Superman. With four victories in five games, and 10 of their next 14 at home, Howard's Magic could be flying high for a while.
12 Maybe they should have made that trade for Ron Artest after all. Their defense looked awful in back-to-back losses at Chicago and Milwaukee, making it three losses in four games for George Karl's up-and-down crew.
15 They spanked the Knicks on Sunday to make up for Friday's loss at New York and notch their fifth victory in eight games. T.J. Ford (15 points, five assists Sunday) continues his strong comeback from a spinal injury.
16 Sacramento fans gave Mike Bibby a warm welcome before Wednesday's victory over the Hawks. Then again, maybe they were just glad to see their Kings, currently in a stretch in which they play nine of 10 on the road.
21 Mo Cheeks got a one-year contract extension last week as his team continues to exceed expectations. Saturday's victory at Miami was their seventh triumph in nine games and kept them in the No. 8 spot in the East standings.
14 They chose to stand pat at the trade deadline, which is probably a good idea for a promising young team. But Sunday's loss to the Celtics was their seventh in eight games, putting the playoff talk on hold for now.
19 Devin Harris (ankle) hopes to make his New Jersey debut next week. Meanwhile, Marcus Williams has done a decent job overall as Kidd's replacement, and the Nets won two of their first three games after the trade.
18 They're still waiting for Bibby (foot) to get fully healthy, and to get back to the friendly confines of Philips Arena. They lost four of their first five on their six-game trip to fall to 7-20 on the road.
17 With Caron Butler (hip) still out of the lineup, they've dropped 10 of 12 to lose those good vibes of January. Also, Gilbert Arenas (knee) admits his projected post-All-Star break return was too optimistic.
