NCAA Basketball Power Rankings
Rank LW School
6 6
LSU Tigers (23-4)
For nearly a year, UConn's Tina Charles had a picture of Sylvia Fowles blocking her shot in last year's tourney upset hanging in her locker. Just in case that wasn't enough motivation, the Baton Rouge newspaper published it again when UConn visited Monday night. But this time Fowles couldn't carry her team over the Huskies -- her 26 points and 11 rebounds were good, but it was Charles (who gave Fowles a big hug at the end of the game) who came out on top.

Next: 2/28 vs. Arkansas; 2/6-9 at SEC tournament
7 7
Stanford Cardinal (25-3)
While some teams rely so heavily on their stars, Stanford has shown it can win big games even when its top player struggles. It doesn't happen often for Candice Wiggins, who's led the Cardinal scoring in nine of the last 10 games. When she struggled with a 4-for-19 effort against California on Sunday, though, Wiggins' teammates were there to bail her out. Jayne Appel and JJ Hones combined to hit 11 of 18 shots to move Stanford into a first-place tie with the Golden Bears in the Pac-10 standings.

Next three: 2/29 at Washington; 3/2 at Washington State; 3/7-10 at Pac-10 tournament
8 8
Baylor Bears (23-3)
The key to beating the Bears could just be running them ragged; with just seven players, Baylor has one of the shortest rosters in the nation. But so far, that hasn't stopped the Bears from taking control of the Big 12. Baylor has a one-game lead over Kansas State and Oklahoma and are 6-2 against Top 25 teams.

Next three: 2/27 vs. Colorado; 3/1 at Texas A&M; 3/6 vs. Oklahoma State
9 10
California Golden Bears (23-3)
A loss to Stanford on Saturday put the Bears in a first-place tie with the Cardinal in the Pac-10. Life will get a little easier for Cal to stay on top, when it travels to struggling Washington State.

Next three: 2/29 at Washington State; 3/2 at Washington; 3/7-10 at Pac-10 tournament
10 10
Duke Blue Devils (21-7)
Hard to believe that the Blue Devils took this long to get a conference Player of the Week. They're so balanced, it's seldom the same player puts up the biggest numbers in consecutive games. But Chante Black stood out last week, averaging 21 points, 6.5 rebounds and 3.0 steals in wins over Virginia Tech and Virginia.

Next: 3/2 at North Carolina; 3/6-9 at ACC tournament
