BALTIMORE (AP) -- Orioles reliever Dennis Sarfate will be sidelined for at least six weeks because of a circulatory condition in his right middle finger.

Sarfate was put on the 15-day disabled list Sunday after complaining of numbness in the finger. He was given an angiogram Friday morning to determine the extent of the injury.

Orioles manager Dave Trembley said the right-hander has been told to rest for a week and refrain from throwing for one month.

Trembley said the injury is not career-threatening, nor life-threatening.

Sarfate has a 6.39 ERA in eight appearances.
