Yankees catcher Jorge Posada, who's been out with a hamstring injury, is on the plane to Cleveland and will be activated Friday, Yankees general manager Brian Cashman said this afternoon.

The Yankees, who have suffered a large number of injuries this year, also received positive updates on three other injured players. Xavier Nady, who has an elbow injury, reported he feels "great'' after recent swings and might not be that far away from returning if it's decided he's only needed to hit. However, the plan has been to have him start a throwing program June 1.

Melky Cabrera was said to be improved, as well, but the plan calls for him not to start this weekend series in Cleveland after he injured his shoulder crashing into the wall. He is being listed as day-to-day, however.

Brian Bruney has been said by three doctors to have no structural damage in his arm and is thought to be suffering from soreness.
