Kings' Martin out vs. Thunder with ankle sprain |
OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Sacramento Kings guard Kevin Martin was held out of Thursday night's preseason game against the Oklahoma City Thunder with a sprained left ankle. Martin ranked seventh in scoring in the NBA last season with a 24.6 average. He missed 30 games in the first half of the season with an injured left ankle. Coach Paul Westphal says this injury is minor and "nothing long term." Westphal says Martin injured the ankle in the Kings' 143-127 loss to Phoenix on Tuesday night. The Kings close the preseason on Friday night against Utah. Rookie Omri Casspi started in his place. Copyright 2009 Associated Press. All rights reserved.
