Prep standout Cousins commits to Memphis

Alabama prep standout DeMarcus Cousins has committed to Memphis, SI.com has confirmed.

Cousins originally committed to UAB, but backed out of that commitment when the school would not guarantee it would release him if coach Mike Davis left to take another job.

Cousins, a 6-foot-10 center from LeFlore High School in Mobile who is considered the top big man in the country, averaged 26 points, 12 rebounds and 6.7 blocked shots this season.
