Nittany Lions add recruit |
STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (AP) -- Penn State added a fourth member to its 2009 basketball recruiting class with the signing of wing player Bill Edwards out of Middletown, Ohio. Coach Ed DeChellis says the 6-foot-6 Edwards' 240-pound frame will suit Big Ten play. Edwards averaged 17 points, nine rebounds and almost five assists as a high school senior. Edwards was the Ohio Senior Play of the Year this past season. He's described as a strong perimeter shooter who can also post up. Edwards is the son of Bill Edwards, Sr., who played briefly with the Philadelphia 76ers in 1993 before going on to a professional career in Europe. Copyright 2009 Associated Press.
