Hot Clicks Winner Takes Over
This past Tuesday, Colby of Dallas, won Hot Clicks' Friday Night Lights trivia contest. One of the prizes was picking the woman to leadoff today's Clicks. Cobly went with the fine choice of My Name is Earl star, Jamie Pressly, who you can find more of here.
Speaking Of Friday Night Lights...
The fine folks at Pepsi, who have already given one Hot Clicks reader (Chris Ferguson, of Overland Park, Kan.) a Super Bowl Party Prize Pack (which is valued at $250 and includes 1 football, 1 beverage pail, 1 snack helmet, 2 key chains, 2 hats, 2 T-shirts, 5 Pepsi 24 pack coupons and 5 Frito Lay coupons) want to give away one more. So, I'm going to bribe you once again into watching Friday Night Lights, which airs tonight at 9 pm on NBC. The bribery worked last time because Brent Haberl, of Warren, Mich., e-mailed to say "I just wanted to thank you for talking so much about Friday Night Lights. After seeing all the posts on the new season I decided I should take a look. Now I'm hooked." Anyway, check back here on Monday for another trivia contest that will be centered around tonight's episode. A few more FNL items: David, of Ellicott City, Md., says "I have been a longtime fan of Hot Clicks, and have often wondered why you thought Friday Night Lights was so great. I recently watched a few episodes on NBC.com, and I am surprised that you never mentioned this possibility on Hot Clicks. FREE Episodes of FNL and you didn't even mention it. They have both Seasons 1 and 2, and I must admit I am hooked. Do all the other Hot Clicks fans a favor and mention this amazing opportunity to experience one of the best shows on TV from the beginning." David, consider it done.
Sorry, More FNL
Matt Lee, of San Francisco, says "Look, I like pictures of hot women as much as the next guy, but when a source is clearly not credible it does not deserve the honor of receiving your publicity. Clearly, AskMen.com is just going through the motions with its Hot 99 list. Minka Kelly doesn't make the cut? I suggest you request they issue an apology to you and your readers for wasting everyone's time. Just give us the pictures and forget the bogus rankings." Dylan Bowerman, of Midland, Texas says "No Minka Kelly on the AskMen.com Top 99? I can't even consider this list with this type of omission. Tina Fey makes the list but not Minka Kelly???" Listen, all I cay is this: people makes mistakes. I've made mistakes, you've made mistakes, we've all made mistakes. And clearly AskMen.com made a mistake. Especially when you consider that Minka is smokin' hot even when she's all sweaty and working out.
It Doesn't Get Better Than '80s Wrestling
Three e-mails that had great wrestling links landed in my inbox overnight. First and foremost, is this unbelievably detailed review of The Wrestling Album. (FYI, few songs in the history of music are better than Grab Them Cakes.) Axel Janson, of Cordova, Alaska, sent in this truly classic video of Vince McMahon singing a song with several old-school wrestlers on instruments. Lastly, Tom Gallagher, of the University of Delaware, sends in this clip of a wrestler pulling off some amazing moves.
Scouting Jennifer Hudson
Yesterday, I linked to an article that covered the intricacies of betting the Super Bowl coin toss. Today, it's time to cover the always nerve-wracking "How long will the national anthem last" bet. Speaking of great prop bets, BoDogLife.com e-mailed me a bunch of wacky props for the Super Bowl. They include:
- How Many Times will NBC show Brenda Warner on TV during the Game? Over/Under: 3½
- How many times will Al Michaels and John Madden reference Ben Roethlisberger as "Big Ben" during the Game? Over/Under: 7½
- How many food references will John Madden make during the game? Over/Under: 1½
- What Betting Line will Al Michaels allude to or mention first during the Game? Pointspread: -200/Total: +150
- What Color will Bill Bidwell's bowtie be? Red: -500/Any Other Color +300
Speaking Of Betting...
Atlanta Hawks guard Acie Law is a huge Cowboys fan. So much so that he just bet a buddy $10,000 that Dallas would win the Super Bowl next year.
Olympic gymnast Alicia Sacramone is dating a defensive back on the Brown University football team ... The Super Bowl winner has already been revealed thanks to Madden NFL 09 ... Home Run Derby has unearthed several commercials from the '80s in which MLB stars, including Mike Schmidt, Reggie Jackson and Dave Winfield, urge fans not to do drugs.
Since there is no football this weekend, here are two things you may be interested in. The Miss America pageant is on Saturday. Gunaxim.com has a preview -- which is code for "lots of photos." If that isn't enough excitement, you can listen to my appearance with SI's Tour Guy Dan Rubenstein and SIOC columnist Ty Hildenbrandt on their very funny Solid Verbal podcast.
One Last TV Item
Since I overloaded you with Friday Night Lights stuff, here's some other TV items you may be interested in. Zak Stroud, of Nampa, Idaho, says "I ran across this video of Yvonne Stahovski from Chuck after watching last weeks episode of Friday Night Lights online. Chuck is a great show and I can't wait for the season to start back up."
More Fun On Facebook
I held off from using any inauguration links today because there is only one to see, and it's on the Hot Clicks Facebook Group.
Sports Video Of The Day
Zeus, of Montgomery, Ala., sent along this clip of LenDale White, DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart on The Best Damn Sports Show earlier this week and all I can say is, for grown men, these guys take nicknames way too seriously.
Diving Video Of The Day
Mihai, of Brussels, Belgium, sends this clip in and asks "Why do people do this?" My guess would be alcohol.
Flopping Video Of The Day
This comes via PwnedVideo.com (great stuff there, check it out) and whoever made this YouTube did a hell of a job.
