Amber Lancaster, FNL's Zach Gilford dating: Hot Clicks |
Derek And Me -- Part Three
I was lucky enough to interview Derek Jeter yesterday for the third time since last July. As always, I tried to get the Yankees shortstop to give us one little nugget on Hot Clicks Nation (yes, I'm creating a Nation since everyone else is) favorite, Minka Kelly. Of course Jeter wouldn't bite, but he was still a good sport about me badgering him with questions about the Friday Night Lights star. Speaking of Friday Night Lights, Keith, of Jacksonville, Fla, wrote in to say "You always reference Minka Kelly from FNL, but after watching Zach Gilford's girlfriend, Amber Lancaster, on the Super Bowl Celebrity Beach Bowl I believe you should show her off a little too." I can't find anything that confirms they're dating (although this picture and this page helps), but I've always thought Gilford, who plays Matt Saracen, was the second-best actor on that show, right after Kyle Chandler. And now, we have even more reason to be in awe of Gilford. UPDATE, 12:16 pm: The latest issue of ESPN the Magazine features a contest between Lancaster and FNL's Jesse Plemons (Landry) to see who knows Gilford better, so they are indeed dating. Phelps Fun
It's amazing to see how much the blogosphere can get out of one picture. But that's what's happening with the now-famous Michael Phelps bong-hit-seen-'round-the-world pic. While Phelps is trying to get back to swimming, we have this song, titled Swim Stoned, we have the Top 10 Michael Phelps Replacement Sponsors (which features some great Photoshop work) and we have even more great Photoshops here and here. Last week, we mentioned a petition that was supposed to get G4TV host Olivia Munn to dive into a gigantic pie. Well, Kane, of Knox City, Mo., says "Follow up on the pie dive, they received more than 60,000 signatures. Thanks to Jimmy for putting it in Hot Clicks, and all the Hot Clicks readers who made it possible. He is the link to Olivia Munn's pie dive in a French maid outfit." Shaun Dias, of Toronto, Russell, of Norwalk, Iowa, Philip, of Charlotte, N.C., and John Nguyen, of Minnetonka, Minn., also sent this link. Good job Hot Clicks Nation. Also, Travis, of Chicago, alerts us to a twist on the Bacon Explosion featured in Friday's Hot Clicks -- add cheese. And tons of you sent in this link, which features many of the pictures that were used in the Laura Leigh video that was in yesterday's Hot Clicks. Good Deeds
Dominick Martimucci, of Yorktown Heights, N.Y., says "Hey Jimmy, my name is Dominick, I've been an avid Extra Mustard/Hot Clicks reader for quite a while now. I've always wanted to send in a great video or a link for a great site, but was never able to come up with anything I thought was great enough, until now. Since June I have been embarking in a huge weight loss competition with myself and up until this point I have lost 80 lbs. I'm only 5-foot-6 and I was tipping the scales at a brisk 265 lbs, today I am 185 lbs. On top of losing all this weight, I wanted to do something to challenge myself and help others. Since I can't get on the biggest loser any more I signed up to run a marathon. The best part about the marathon is the fact that I'm doing it to save lives. All the funds I'm raising go directly to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in the fight to stop blood cancers. Here is the link to my site, anything you can do to help would be amazing!" Mitch, of Long Branch, N.J., e-mailed to say "How have you not shown Huey Lewis and the News' video for Do You Believe In Love? The band is singing, while the girl is sleeping. It gets really good at the 1:40 mark. You will love it." It's an '80s video. Of course I will love it. But, yes, this does become a typical cheesy '80s masterpiece at the 1:40 mark.
