I can never figure out if I should be disturbed or flattered by the e-mails I get admonishing me for taking vacation. Anyway, I'll be here until Thanksgiving now, unless the Yankees win the World Series and I need to take a couple of days for celebratory antics. Speaking of the Yankees, it seems Nick Swisher is following in teammate Derek Jeter's footsteps by dating a young actress. Reports say Swisher is dating Joanna Garica, who starred in some CW show called Privileged and is appearing in Gossip Girl this season. More impressive than that, Garcia had a small, but key role in American Pie 2. She was the chick making out with Stifler when he was on the receiving end of an unfortunate accident. UPDATE: 12:30 p.m.: Wow, I love Swisher and Garcia even more after getting this e-mail from Joe, of Iowa City.. "Jimmy, you must have forgotten Joanna Garcia's role in Not Another Teen Movie The wanna-be cheerleader with a dirty case of Turrets Syndrome?" Saturday afternoon, in between the massive amounts of college football, I flipped over to Mets-Phillies on Fox. And what was going on just at that time? Tim McCarver was plugging his new CD. Yes, the longtime MLB analyst has put out a music CD. It's titled Tim McCarver Sings Selections from the Great American Songbook, and it's gotten at least one good review.
