KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Tennessee coach Lane Kiffin is hoping to have fans of the Volunteers join the team for one of its spring practice sessions. Kiffin hopes to open the team's practice at 7:30 p.m. on March 13 at Neyland Stadium to give fans a chance to see the players in action. The decision is pending approval of the fire marshal. Practices under former coach Phillip Fulmer traditionally were closed to the public. Kiffin told The Associated Press on Wednesday that he's planning a very physical spring practice period because it's the best way for the coaching staff to assess the players. Tennessee will participate in 14 practices before hosting the annual Orange and White game at 3 p.m. on April 18. Copyright 2009 Associated Press. All rights reserved.
