Arizona Cardinals sign TE Dominique Byrd

TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) -The Arizona Cardinals have signed free agent tight end Dominique Byrd to a one-year contract.

Terms were not disclosed.

The 6-foot-3, 255-pound Byrd spent his first two NFL seasons with St. Louis, which selected him out of USC in the third round of the 2006 draft. Byrd played 14 games in 2006 and 2007, catching six passes for 83 yards and one touchdown.

He was released by the Rams in April 2008 and was out of football last season.
