USOC hires ex-White House press secretary Fleischer |
DENVER (AP) -- The U.S. Olympic Committee has hired former White House press secretary Ari Fleischer as a consultant. Fleischer, who heads Ari Fleischer Sports Communications, will help the USOC with communications and strategic issues, along with the search to replace chief communications officer Darryl Seibel, whose last day is scheduled for June 5. Last year, the Green Bay Packers hired Fleischer to help manage the Brett Favre retirement saga. The USOC's new CEO, Stephanie Streeter, is on the Packers' board of directors.
