NEW DELHI (AP) -- A newspaper reports that India's cricketers have been told by their South African coach and mental conditioning expert that sex increases on-field performance,.

The advice by Gary Kirsten and Paddy Upton comes as India prepared for the Champions Trophy tournament. India takes on traditional rival Pakistan in its first match in Centurion Saturday.

The Hindustan Times claimed to have a copy of a document by distributed by the coach to the players.

The document, according to the daily, said sex increases testosterone levels, which cause an increase in strength, energy, aggression and competitiveness.

"Conversely, not having sex for a period of a few months causes a significant drop in testosterone levels in both males and females, with the corresponding passiveness and decrease in aggression," it said.
