Russia's Leonova skates to Finlandia Trophy win

HELSINKI (AP) -- Alena Leonova of Russia has won the ladies' competition in the annual Finlandia Trophy figure skating event.

Last season's world junior champion won both the short program and the free skate to total 162.17 points on Sunday.

Reigning European champion Laura Lepisto of Finland was second with 154.33 points and Kiira Korpi of Finland was third on 152.84.

European bronze medalists Sinead and John Kerr of Britain claimed ice dance title, finishing almost 15 points ahead of Anastasia Platonova and Alexander Grachev of Russia.

Daisuke Takahashi of Japan won the men's event on Saturday with 224.25 points, about 14 more than Sergei Voronov of Russia. Steven Carriere of the United States was third.
