Gimpl celebrates birthday with snowboarding gold

LONDON (AP) -- Stefan Gimpl celebrated his 30th birthday Saturday with a victory in the Big Air snowboarding World Cup event as he prepares for the Vancouver Olympics.

The Austrian finished ahead of Gian-Luica Cavigelli of Switzerland and Slovenian duo Domen Bizjak and Matevz Pristavec at London's Battersea Power Station.

The remainder of the top 10 was filled by two Finns -- Roope Tonteri in fifth and Janne Koepi in sixth -- and four Norwegians -- Ulrik Badertscher, Morten Kleivdal, Sondre Tiller and Gjermund Braaten.
