BERLIN (AP) -- Five-time Olympic speedskating champion Claudia Pechstein hasn't given up hope of resuming her career even though the Court of Arbitration for Sport denied her appeal of a two-year ban for blood doping.

The 37-year-old German has never failed a drug test and denied doping. She plans to take her case to the Swiss supreme court after the ruling by the CAS on Wednesday that upheld her suspension until February 2011.

Pechstein was quoted as saying Sunday in the Bild am Sonntag newspaper that "it doesn't look as though I will be starting at the Olympics." The Vancouver Games are in February.

Pechstein said she hasn't retired and mentioned the possibility of competing at the 2011 worlds, which are that March.
