Did hometown refs benefit Bulls?
An NBA source pointed out before the Bulls-Celtics game that two of the referees were Chicago natives (Bill Kennedy and Dan Crawford). Kennedy also was involved in an incident with Rivers during the Bulls' St. Patrick's Day win in which both were fined by the league for jawing. The source also said that after the game family members of both referees departed wearing Bulls gear. (Boston Globe)

Jets talking to Plaxico
The Jets added a big gun in quarterback Mark Sanchez this weekend. Now they're looking a player with a big gun problem. The team has talked to the agent for former Giants receiver Plaxico Burress, though no signing is imminent. A source familiar with the discussions said the team "kicked the tires," but that's as far as it has gone. (New York Post)

Webb out at least six more weeks
Diamondbacks ace Brandon Webb, who will miss at least six more weeks with a strain in his right shoulder, is not concerned that the injury will affect him on a long-term basis. A much-quicker return was expected until Webb encountered problems Friday. He now will shut down for a week and then begin strengthening his arm. He will not throw for three weeks. He said he cannot recall any one pitch that caused the problem, saying it probably was something that occurred during spring training. Manager Bob Melvin said that during Webb's absence, Yusmeiro Petit will be in the rotation, although situations always are being evaluated. (Arizona Republic)
