Williams suspended from F1 teams' association |
OXFORD, England (AP) -- Williams says it has been "temporarily suspended'' from the Formula One Teams Association after breaking ranks over a disputed budget cap. The move by the association on Wednesday came two days after Williams lodged its entry for next season's F1 championship. That was in defiance of the association, which has been in talks with governing body FIA over plans to introduce a $60 million budget cap next season. Ferrari and several other teams have threatened to pull out if the cap goes ahead. Friday is the deadline for teams to enter the 2010 championship. Team principal Frank Williams says his team is contractually and legally obliged to race until the end of 2012. Copyright 2009 Associated Press. All rights reserved.
