Corinthians could officially reveal new signing Ronaldo during a friendly match with Mexican giants Club America in late January.

Initially it seemed Corinthians would face Argentine champions Boca Juniors on Jan. 17, but the Buenos Aires club pulled out of the game due to preseason activity.

The Brazilians are now hoping to set up a match with America, a side traditionally known for having its fare share of South Americans. According to reports, leading sports brand Nike (which sponsor both clubs) will arrange the friendly match.

Both Corinthians and America are expected to do preseason training in Beaverton, Ore., the world headquarters of Nike.

Corinthians had stated in December that it wasplanning to invite Spanish champions Real Madrid to Sao Paulo to face them in Ronaldo's official debut.
