NEW YORK (AP) -- Major League Soccer will receive $10 million for its agreement to extend David Beckham's loan to AC Milan through the end of the season. The 33-year-old England midfielder joined the Los Angeles Galaxy in July 2007 and moved to Milan on a loan in January. That loan was to expire on March 8 but the sides agreed to extend it through the end of the Italian season. Beckham will rejoin the Galaxy on July 1. "We asked for $10 million, we got our $10 million," MLS commissioner Don Garber said on Thursday. He didn't go into how much of the money will be paid for by Milan and how much by the player. "We don't know where it's coming from, either. There's a lot of different ways it could happen," he said. "He can not get paid from Milan. Milan could pay us. He could pay them. At the end of the day, it doesn't matter." Beckham has the ability to terminate his contract with the Galaxy after the 2009 season. If he leaves to play in Europe before the 2010 World Cup, he always could return to MLS later. "I don't know if he's going to leave after this season whether we would want him back," Garber said.
