MEXICO CITY (AP)-- Tecos and Puebla each picked up victories Wednesday in the first two playoff games in Mexico's first division.

Rodrigo Ruiz and Carlos Morales scored to lift Tecos to a 2-0 victory over Pumas in Guadalajara.

In Puebla, the home team defeated Rayados 3-1. Puebla took a 1-0 lead on an own-goal by Gerardo Galindo. That was followed by goals by Alejandro Acosta and Sergio Perez. Humberto Suazo scored Rayados' only goal three minutes into the second half.

The other two first-leg matches are Thursday when Ciudad Juarez meets Toluca and Jaguares plays Toluca. The return legs are Saturday and Sunday, when the playoff field will be narrowed to four.

Pachuca is seeded No. 1 followed by Toluca and Pumas.
