LISBON, Portugal (AP) -- Champion Porto was held 1-1 by visiting Braga in its final game of the Portuguese league season on Sunday.

Porto, which celebrated its title success with its fans at its Stadium of the Dragon, took a 42nd-minute lead when the ball rebounded off striker Ernesto Farias into the net after Lisandro Lopez's cross had struck Braga defender Evaldo.

Edimar fired Braga's equalizer in the 55th after taking the ball past Porto defender Cristian Sapunaru.

Porto bids to win the domestic double next weekend when it meets Pacos de Ferreira in the Portuguese Cup final.

Also Sunday, runner-up Sporting completed its season with a 3-1 win over Nacional.

Sporting striker Derlei scored with headers in the fourth and seventh minutes, with the league's top scorer, Nene, firing his 20th goal of the season for Nacional in the 11th.

Leandro Romagnoli sealed Sporting's win with an injury-time penalty.

Porto, which won the title for the fourth straight season, finished with 70 points, four points ahead of Sporting. Benfica followed with 59, Nacional had 52 and Braga 50.

Porto gained a direct place in next season's Champions League, with Sporting entering the second qualifying round of Europe's top club competition.

Benfica, Nacional and Braga will compete in the Europa League. Pacos de Ferreira has also qualified for UEFA's new competition by reaching the Cup final.

On Saturday, Trofense and Belenenses were relegated after suffering defeats. Last-place Trofense lost 1-0 at Pacos Ferreira, while Belenenses went down 3-1 at Benfica.

Trofense and Belenenses will be replaced in next season's league by second-division champion Olhanense and Leiria.

In Saturday's other games, it was: Leixoes 1, Maritimo 0; Rio Ave 2, Amadora 1; Naval 2, Setubal 2; and Guimaraes 3, Academica 2.
