Ex-Mexican nat'l-teamer Davino to Monterrey

One day after Ramon Nuņez moved to Cruz Azul, Puebla lost yet another key player.

Defender Duilio Davino became the second pivotal player to leave the club in as many days when Davino reached a deal with Monterrey. The 33-year-old defender enjoyed a renaissance season with Puebla and helped the club reach the Clausura 2009 semifinal.

Davino spent all of 2008 in Major League Soccer but was a bust with FC Dallas as he did not adjust to the league nor was he very productive. Now, however, Monterrey officials expressed satisfaction with having added a veteran defender to their back line.

"Davino is a player of great caliber," the club said in a statement. "He will be with our club for one year on loan." --Goal.com
