NEW YORK (AP) -- Chivas USA midfielder Marcelo Saragosa received a two-game suspension rather than a one-game penalty for his ejection against Seattle last weekend.

Saragosa got a red card for putting his cleats into the face of Fredy Montero as both went for a ball in the 71st minute of a 0-0 tie Saturday.

He will miss games against the New York Red Bulls on Saturday and D.C. United on Oct. 3. Saragosa's fine was doubled to $1,000 Tuesday by Major League Soccer's disciplinary committee.

Houston Dynamo assistant coach John Spencer also had his suspension doubled to two games and his fine was tripled to $1,500 for a confrontation that caused him to be ejected from a 3-2 loss to Real Salt Lake last weekend.

San Jose coach Frank Yallop was fined $750 for confronting officials after last Friday's 1-1 tie against Colorado.
