Dax McCarty has penned a new deal with FC Dallas, the club announced on Tuesday, re-signing for the only club the 22-year-old has played.

The sixth overall pick in the 2006 Major League Soccer SuperDraft, McCarty now has four seasons under his belt with Dallas. This past year, he started 27 matches, scoring three goals and notching six assists as he locked down the holding midfield position in the squad.

"Dax was a key member of the team this season and a vital part of the successful late-season run we had," said Dallas head coach Schellas Hyndman in a statement. "Ensuring Dax would be in a FC Dallas uniform next season was a top priority for us."

McCarty is currently with the United States national team in Slovakia, preparing for a friendly on Nov. 14. The senior-team call-up is a first for the midfielder. --Goal.com
