NEW YORK (AP) -- Maria Sharapova says she will be back on tour next week. Sharapova writes on her Web site that she plans to play her first competitive singles match in nearly 10 months at next week's clay-court tournament in Warsaw, Poland. The posting makes no mention of the French Open, which starts May 24. Sharapova says she knows it'll take "a while to get back into the groove of playing tournaments and matches," but adds that she's "so excited to be competing again." The three-time Grand Slam title winner was sidelined in August by a torn rotator cuff in her right shoulder and had surgery two months later. She has played one doubles match since then, losing in March at Indian Wells, California. Copyright 2009 Associated Press. All rights reserved.
